Mountains of Snow
Out of breathe,
Any breathe I can spare makes a frost puff before me,
The sun shining white bight light,
Around me a wonderland of cold white fluffy snow,
My feet trek one at time,
The soft thudding sound of my small steps through powder,
Up and Up in heavy ski gear,
The weight is strenuous like moving a mini mountain,
It keeps out the freezing cold,
Cold that bites like a harsh prick of flames but slowly,
I keep going, I don’t stop,
Finally the top starts to draw near after what feels like ages,
Keep going, just don’t stop!
Finally I reach the top and the view is simply incredible!
It’s so amazingly beautiful!
I stare with a smile catching my breathe
And Losing it again
At the mountains of snow in the distance,
The crater of a volcano and a river through the white land
The sun shining like a star and clouds puffing through the sky
Queenstown, New Zealand, below me
I feel like a white horse running free
It was worth every step.
