Have you ever felt lost in life? Like you have so many options but none of them where your original plan? And even if you know where you want to go, the road is always under construction. Even though you are surrounded by signs, none of them are straight forward. The signs are hard to read, they don’t make sense. But sometimes… when you STOP and take a breath, look around and act, you can see what you need to do, and you find the way.
This work is complex making and framing process. Part 1: I took a collage of an ink doodle, cut it up, scrunched it up and stuck it on water colour paper. Part 2: I did a layer of water colour wash. I also blocked in with acrylic. Then, I did all the black ink work detail and wash. Part 3: I took photos of signs, printed them out in black and white and stuck them in. I had to make the colour signs myself, so I used red paper and acrylics. Then I used stickers to make all the street sign names. Part 4: I did the finishing touches and made texture with water colour crayons, pastel, acrylic, ink, and watercolours. I signed it. Finally, it was complete.
