Athabasca Falls in Jasper
Jasper was so full of adventure and lust for life
It twinkled in the corner of his friendly smile
In the dappled light of the forest trees on the trial
His brown eyes glinted in the sunlight like his golden heart
Atha (Athabasca) was so chilled and relaxed
As she breezed through the hiking trial
Her long black hair flowing in the wind
And her blue eyes sparking with promised love
It was there on the trail upstream on that sun day
Atha and Jasper met accidently crashing into each other
Atha fell to the earthy trail, and Jasper raised her up into his arms
Held in a soft embrace their eyes locked in wonder.
The wind blew cool from the north
The sun shone warm from the south
Their natural connection drew their lips to lock
They fused together in deep depths of intimate love
But Atha is the river where the waterfall flows
Jasper was the man who slipped and fell in
The magical thrill of adventure was to tempting to miss
Along the way he lost himself breaking as he fell for her.
Atha tried her best to hold him together
She gave him rocks, earth and sticks to cling too
But it was too late, Jasper had to go with the flow
He disappeared over the falls and downstream
He waved goodbye with a bittersweet smile
Then he was never to be seen again
Many tears would fall, but after them all
Atha smiled for she knows where the river goes
It goes to a better place to a new life,
It’s a new beginning, a new journey,
She smiled and threw her past to the falls
She let it all go and she was free.
A rainbow shines through the waterfall
Shimmering with the magical refraction of happiness
In Jasper, at Athabasca Falls,
Atha and Jasper belong in peace.
